چکیده

Reliability and security of power systems, especially in areas prone to earthquakes, depends on the seismic withstand its components interaction these with other elements. All relevant products should be designed tested guarantee high performance. Option which is strongly recommended for qualification shake table test. This way very expensive some cases like transformers impossible due weight size. Because this numerical analyses can helpful determine dynamic characteristic system. more used during evaluation performance products, design phase. In paper a different approaches have been presented. first part article focus was put typical simulation methods defined by IEEE IEC standards. approach dedicated only transformer’s components. Due fact that standards do not provide clear information about fluid influence equipment events, investigations related oil filled were done summarized. Three investigated. First one built based Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) methodology. combination software (CFD, structural, coupling code) cover phonemes dynamics structural analyses. FSI methodology gives wide possibility but, it’s complex however, disadvantage objects. Next uses acoustic elements, where modeled as medium. method allows take into account simulations simplified way. The last Lagrange Euler element formulations (CEL) sloshing effect considered. including fluid.

Diagnostic Measurements for Power Transformers

With the increasing age of the primary equipment of the electrical grids there exists also an increasing need to know its internal condition. For this purpose, offand online diagnostic methods and systems for power transformers have been developed in recent years. Online monitoring is used continuously during operation and offers possibilities to record the relevant stresses which can affect th...

A Novel Flux-Based Protection Scheme for Power Transformers

Internal Turn-Turn faults (TTF) are the most common failures in power transformers, which could seriously reduce their life expectancy. Although common protection schemes such as current-baseddifferential protection are able to detect some of the internal faults, some other minor ones (such as TTFs andshort circuit near the neutral point) cannot be detected by such schemes. Likewise, these rela...

Piezoelectric transformers for a high power module

Abstract Piezoelectric transformers are mainly commercialized for a LCD back light inverter module. With regard to laptop computers, the required output power for a piezoelectric transformer is around 5 W at present, and higher power will be needed for wider displays in the near future. In addition, modules such as AC-DC adaptors or fluorescent lamps may require a higher output power of more th...

Failure Analysis of Power Transformers

This paper deals with three types of power transformer failure analysis tests which can help in monitoring the transformer condition. The three methods are Conventional oil test, Furan derivatives test and Markov models criteria. Conventional oil testing procedure includes determination of gas concentrations in the transformer oil sample and analyzing the fault by considering ratio of two suita...

Piezoelectric Transformers in Power Electronics

The increasing utilization of piezoelectric transformers (PT) in power electronics requires fundamental analysis and design of PT power converters. In addition, the possibility of overcoming the essential limitations of PT power ability by a combined operation of PTs needs to be examined. These studies could provide wide opportunities for PT exploitation in power electronic circuits. The main o...
